All over the world, Vyshivankas are famous for their unique cut, inspired by hundreds of years of history, that wonderfully flatter all body shapes.
With the My Sleeping Gypsy range, we retain the Vyshyvanka heritage but add a contemporary touch. This combination of history and modernity makes this choice stylish and eternally fashionable.
Looking stylish & feeling comfortable.
Braille Mask is crafted from mocha-colored linen, featuring traditional Ukrainian cross-stitch, richly decorated with pearl beads. Each mask has a functional decorative string of beads, which allows the user to remove the mask and wear it around the user’s neck. The mask consists of 2 layers of linen and 2 layers of non-woven material, which makes it very solid. The construction of the mask allows breathing freely. It has passed the “candle” test and will protect the user better than any simple cloth mask, however it should not be considered as medical. There are special silicone stoppers on the elastic band, which allows each user to adjust the length of the elastic band at the user’s comfort. Every mask comes in an individual linen envelope. Each envelope is beaded and individually matches the color palette of the mask inside.
We have used leftovers from our main MySG line of high-quality linen and 50 meters of embroidery thread to craft every item. The construction allows free breathing and is comfortable to wear. Our Masks have passed the “candle” test and will protect the user better than any simple cloth mask, however it should not be considered as medical. At first, the parts of the mask are getting embroidered in our atelier and then assembled together by our craftsmen in Kyiv. Our embroidery patterns are made by local artists, each motif tells a story and conveys a worldly sentiment, making each item truly unique.
In Ukrainian culture, embroidery has always had a significant spiritual meaning. My Sleeping Gypsy masks were designed to protect you and become a stylish accessory to your outfit. More on how do we craft My Sleeping Gypsy Masks here: https://mysleepinggypsy.com/blog/mask
